Nuestros Recuerdos is an annual series of five limited-edition creations that extends an invitation to all to embark on an unforgettable voyage through the most exquisite aspects of Día de Muertos.
Music is central to the spirit of Día de Muertos. Each year, on the first two days of November, thousands of musicians across Mexico use their drums, trumpets, guitars and accordions to give life to an exuberant musical repertoire that envelops us with its festive cadence and invites us to joyfully remember those who are no longer with us.
This fourth installment seeks to capture the mystical sonic atmosphere of this celebration’s music
as it runs through town streets, gives life to traditional ofrendas and evokes countless memories.
TEQUILA
Crafted by our Master Distiller Viridiana Tinoco, the 26-month añejo tequila for this limited edition underwent an initial aging in American whiskey casks. It was then split into two batches: one finished in Scotch whisky casks from the isle of Skye, and the other in casks from the Speyside region. Both were then recombined to create this exceptional spirit.

TEQUILA INSPIRATION
Our Master Distiller has played with the sweet and peat-smoke notes of this añejo tequila to evoke memories of yearning like the music of Día de Muertos.
“I wanted to reinterpret the music into sensorial chords to evoke nostalgia. I included smoky notes which are reminders of candles and incense, and sweet notes suggestive of the delicacies placed on ofrendas.”
The Master Distiller employed Scotch whisky casks from Speyside and the Isle of Skye, which provide the blend with sweet aromas and flavors, as well as the smoky notes of peat typical of some Scotch whiskies.

DECANTER
The decanter for this limited edition, with its deep plum color, embodies the soft and calming cadence of Día de Muertos melodies.
On the back of the base, Mexican Illustrator David Espinoza, known as “el Dee”, has imagined a scene that represents, in golden and lilac hues, an eclectic musical ensemble. Its members, some skeletal in appearance and others wearing allegorical masks, parade to the sound of their instruments, reflecting the diverse musical traditions that joyfully resonate throughout Mexico on Día de Muertos.
ORNAMENT
On the front of the decanter’s base, an ornament plated in 24-karat gold with a fine patina finish comes to life in the shape of a jovial, accordion-playing Catrina (a dapper female skeletal figure) whose long limbs move to give the impression that she is playing her instrument and dancing to its tune. This artisanal piece was handcrafted in the artisan workshop Milagros de Latón, located in the community of Tesistán, Jalisco. Highly complex, the ornament is composed of almost 40 individual parts cast in 10 separate molds. Each was then assembled and finished by hand, a process which required a week and a half of work. The ornament was designed by the Clase Azul México creative team. Its complex mechanism was prototyped by Mexican goldsmith Juan Tenorio Orozco over eight months.
